Alice in Chains bassist dead

Original Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr has been found dead in his home in Salt Lake City nine years after the band’s singer, Layne Staley, died of an overdose.
Starr played with Alice in Chains from the band’s formation in 1987 but left the group while they were touring their breakthrough album Dirt. He appeared on Celebrity Rehab in 2009, but was arrested last month for felony possession of a controlled substance earlier this year.
The police have stated that “There is nothing to indicate that this was foul play by another individual” at the scene of the death.
Starr was 44 years old.
