Ex-Smashing Pumpkins bassistjailed

D’arcy Wretzky served as the bassist with The Smashing Pumpkins from 1988 to 1999, but today (and tonight, tonight) she’s serving time in a Michigan jail.

TMZ reports that she was fined for the crime of “Animals Running at Large” back in 2009 when several horses on her farm broke free and ran wild.

She forgot to pay the fine and then missed four court dates, prompting a warrant to be issued for her arrest and a Berrien County district judge to sentence her to six days in jail.

When the police came to arrest her she asked if they could come back tomorrow, that would be Perfect, but they said, no it has to be Today. They had to Disarm her, so they asked how many weapons she was carrying, and she said it was Thirty-three, including a Rocket. But when they patted her down, it turned out to be Zero. They had some trouble getting the horses back, but the seargant reminded everyone it could be worse - at least it wasn't a Rhinoceros. Bail has been set at $1979.

She's not too mellon collie about her sentence, but being away from her horses will bring them infinite sadness.

She is staying in a womens only correctional facility, a place where boys fear to tread.

You'll like puns more when you're older. I guarantee it.

I think it's one of those humour devices that little kids like and teenagers/young adults grow to hate, and then eventually start liking them again when they're a bit older.
