Blur bassist’s boutiquefestival

It’s a far cry from the heady days of Britpop when Blur’s Alex James helped keep the Colombian economy afloat and managed to spent £1 million on champagne in just three years, but the bassist has now announced that he is opening his country house for a boutique food and arts festival in September.
The festival promises to be a “celebration of the very best of the British food scene alongside a soundtrack of the finest bands around”, though with a musical bill headlined by Special K spruiker KT Tunstall it seems that the focus is more on food than music.
The event will include cookery master classes, pop up restaurants, gardening workshops, a farmers market, a children’s field and, of course, a chance for James for showcase ‘Blue Monday’ his award-winning cheese.
The Harvest festival will take place between the 9th and 12th of September.
