Brit award 2011 nominations
Fri 14th Jan, 2011 in International News
The Brit Awards nominations have been announced, with Biffy Clyro, Gorillaz, Mumford & Sons, Take That and The XX on the short list for the title of Best British Group.
Mumford & Sons, The XX and upcoming Big Day Out visitor Plan B all received multiple nominations, but rapper Tinie Tempah leads the pack with four nominations including Best Male Solo Artist.
Though the Brits will undoubtedly make the ARIAs look even more shambolic, there’s some national pride to be found in the nominations with The Temper Trap and Kylie fly the flag for Australia with nominations in the International Breakthrough Act and International Female Solo Act catogories.
The strangest grouping of nominations the battle for Breakthrough international act sees five albums veterans The National fighting off competition from The Temper Trap, the cast of Glee, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber.
