Klaxons Xmas gift
Thu 23rd Dec, 2010 in International News
Your favourite crew of intergalactic cat fanciers, Klaxons, will release a free five-track EP, Landmarks of Lunacy, on Christmas Day featuring material recorded with James Ford in 2008 during the early sessions their second album Surfing The Void.
Speaking to FasterLouder back in August, the band’s guitarist Simon Taylor-Davis denied the rumours that these early recording sessions had been rejected by the group’s record label.
“That was a weird thing to hear,” he explained, “that we had recorded this album that our record label hated. I don’t know where this sort of stuff comes from, it’s really odd. The truth is, before we even started working with Ross on this record, we were recording songs with Simian Mobile Disco heavyweight James Ford without any intention of putting them on an album, they were just songs we had with us and it was a cathartic thing to get them out. But that’s all it was, it wasn’t an album, it wasn’t the first version of this album, and it was never knocked back by our record company.”
