Anthrax's new album almostfinished

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has revealed that the bands has almost completed work on the long awaited follow up to 2003’s We’ve Come For You All album. Ian told Artisan News Service that: “We’re almost ready to go. Eight things are recorded and we’ve only got to go back and re-record two or three things. And Joey [Belladonna] is singing on all of it”

Work on the album had begun with Dan Nelson supplying the vocals, but after he last the band last year Belladonna again returned to the group. Ian explained that “When we first got the call about the big four that’s when the wheels got spinning about asking Joey to come back into the band… The Joey Belladonna Anthrax is the band that I think of when I think of the big four. I think of the Among the Living record, I think of the 86/87 time period. So it just made sense.”

The record, tentatively titled Worship Music and rumoured to feature covers of Refused’s New Noise and Alice In Chains’ We Die Young., will be the first recorded with Belladonna since 1990.

Ian and fellow Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano also release Ironiclast, their debut album with The Damned Things, this week. The supergroup side project also features Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley and Fall Out Boy’s guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley.
