Slipknot to hide bassist

The best drummer in the world, Joey Jordison has revealed to Billboard that Slipknot already recording demos for the follow-up to 2008’s All Hope is Gone.

Jordison told Billboard that the new album will be “a healing process” for the band, following the death of bassist and founding member Paul Gray, explaining that “Slipknot is a family, and losing a family member sucks. You can’t help that, but you need to move on – and I think what we’re going to do might be the most powerful thing we’ve ever created.”

Members of Slipknot will play bass on the new record and although the group plans to recruit a new bass player to play with them on tour he’ll never be seen by fans. Jordison says that the new bassist will be “right behind the stage, locking in with me. But there’s no one who will go on stage.”

Jordison, recently cancelled a December tour with his other band, Murderdolls, at short notice after a “family emergency” but is still scheduled to tour Australia in February with the Soundwave festival.

On a lighter note for Slipknot in a year of deaths and emergencies, frontman Corey Taylor has released a comedy Christmas single, Xm@s.
