System Of A Down reunionconfirmed

Last week news emerged that a French radio DJ had apparently leaked the details of a System of a Down show in Paris next year, prompting speculation that the band was reuniting.

That story can now move from rumour and speculation to fact with the band’s official website announcing that the progressive metal group “will be playing some dates together in 2011”.

The band will reunite to play shows across Europe in June next year, with dates confirmed in Italy, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Finland and at England’s Download Festival.

The statement announcing the reunion thanks fans for their loyalty and support “not only to System Of A Down, but to all of our solo efforts as well” and notes that the band has “no master plan of sorts – we are playing these shows simply because we want to play together again as a band and for you, our amazing fans.”
