System of a Down reunionrumour grows
Tue 23rd Nov, 2010 in International News
Back in January System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjia raised the pulses of fans by twittering “Are u guys ready for System???” but since then there has been no further news from the System camp about a reunion. Until now…
According to the official blog of French radio DJ Francis Zégut, the host of “Pop Rock Station” on RTL2, System of a Down will be performing in Paris on the 6th of June next year.
The post has caused ripples of excitement about a System of a Down reunion to travel through our favourite system of tubes and although there has been no official announcement made to confirm the date Odadjia has continued to fan the rumour on Twitter. In response to the question “any truth in SOAD playing download festival 2011?” the bassist replied with a with a vague, and teasing, “stay tuned”. The Download festival is scheduled to be held the week following the ‘leaked’ Paris date.
System of a Down has been on hiatus since 2006 while its members have pursued various projects – including Serge Tankian’s solo albums; bassist Shavo Odadjian’s hip-hop Achozen project; and guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan’s new band Scars On Broadway.
