UK Festival Award winnersannounced
Mon 22nd Nov, 2010 in International News
It’s the awards ceremony UK music fans await with bated breath each and every year. “Who won Best Toilets?,” you’ll hear people ask in hushed tones… (it was Scotland’s T In The Park, by the way.) Yes, winners have been revealed at the 2010 UK Festival Awards.
Apart from the aforementioned honour of Best Toilets – admittedly, when it comes to music festivals, it’s something organisers should receive kudos for – the UK Festival Awards also named winners like Best Dance Event, Line-Up of the Year, Anthem of the Summer, Promoter of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.
Creamfields came up trumps in the Best Dance Event category, while Austrian ski-field knees-up Snowbombing won in the Overseas Festival race. The much-loved Bestival won in several categories, including Best Family Festival and Best Major Festival, while the big daddy of them all – Glastonbury – scored Promoter of the Year.
The majority of the categories were determined by public vote, so it’s fair to say ‘the people have spoken’; however a few were also selected by a jury of journalists and industry experts.
