Kings of Leon seek deformities

Whether you love them or hate them at least you have to admit that Kings of Leon have nearly perfected the art of attracting publicity through controversy, giving MIA, Kanye and Lady Gaga a run for their money.
The latest controversy comes from an ad the band posted to recruit “characters with scars, pockmarked skin, physical abnormalities or deformities” to appear in the video for the for next single to be lifted from their Come Around Sundown album.
In the ad, which has since been pulled, band offered $300 a day to fans who are “rough around the edges” and “a little slow”, which unkind critics might suggest describes the average Kings of Leon fan.
The ad explained that:
“This video takes place in dockside bar in New England, where life has been hard. All characters with the exception of our hero need to look like life has beaten them up a bit. Scars, pockmarked skin, physical abnormalities or deformities are welcomed!!!!
Hero: Caucasian, early 20’s, blue eyes, James Dean like quality. Needs to be attractive and almost angelic but also feel like he could be from this part of town, and a bit of a bad ass.
Long Shoremen: 30’s – 40’s, all ethnicities. Rough, strong and intimidating. Need STUNTMEN / actors with considerable stage combat / stunt experience as there will be a complicated fight scene. Absolutely need stunt experience and to submit resume for these roles.
Middle Aged Women: Caucasian, mid to late 40’s, attractive in a very real way, vulnerable. Though she is attractive in a way, she needs to also have a quality of someone who has been around the block. She has lived a hard life.
Stripper: mid to late 30’s/ early 40’s, all ethnicities. This character will be doing a “wild voodoo dance” so we need someone who can really move well. Any scars or tattoos are a plus.
Obese Woman: 40’s – 50’s, any ethnicity.
Bartender: Caucasian, 40’s-50’s, scrawny, sketchy, greasy. Irish/Welsh looking.
Prostitute: Any ethnicity, 20’s – 40’s. We are looking for something distinct and memorable about this character. Perhaps she is albino or has a harelip, etc. Someone interesting and a little bit helpless looking.
Possible other principals: We are looking for people who have clear physical abnormalities… examples include: glass eye, missing limb, obvious skin or physical abnormalities, goiters, tracheotomy, etc.”
