The Strokes finish recordingnew album

The Strokes returned, after a four year absence, to headline Splendour in the Grass in July and while we were ecstatic to welcome the band back there was a noticeable lack of new material on the set list.
The setlist prompted some fears that the band’s revival could simply become a nostalgic tour of old material like the recent Pixies and Pavement shows; you know, the kind of tours Billy Corgan hates.
Thankfully some good news has been announced with singer Julian Casablancas revealing via Twitter that ”[The album is] still not going to be out for a few months – mixing, etc But just finally finished it, yesterday actually.”
The still untitled followup to 2006’s First Impressions Of Earth, produced by Joe Chicarelli (White Stripes, U2, Beck, Bjork), is expected to be released in March.
