NME’s 2010 cool list

According to NME’s annual list of the coolest people in music Soulja Boy is cooler than Rivers Cuomo; Muse’s Matt Bellamy is cooler than Deerhunter’s Bradford Cox; but the folk tunes sung by Laura Marling make her the coolest of all. Even cooler than Romy Madley Croft from The xx, Beth Cosentino from Best Coast, Kanye West and Janelle Monae.

In other notable entries Willow Smith has burst onto the list in 33rd place with Whip My Hair , while Marcus Mumford just fails to crack the top ten of pop music’s coolest folk.

With upcoming Australian visits confirmed for Bradford Cox, Matt Bellamy, Ernest Greene, Eva Spence, Cee Lo Green, Tim Harrington, Plan B, Alexis Krauss, Andrew VanWyngarden, Josh Homme, Ethan Kath, Ariel Pink, Nicky Wire, Jamie Reynolds, Jenny Lee Lindberg, Marina Diamandis, Jay-Z, James Murphy, Yannis Philippakis, Robyn, Simon Neil, Paul Weller and Janelle Monae this summer will give you plenty of chances to try and steal some of that ‘cool’ for yourself.
