New Fleet Foxes album delayed
Fri 15th Oct, 2010 in International News
Back in September, Fleet Foxes’ lead singer Robin Pecknold announced that “recording is done [on the band’s second album]! We are flying to New York tomorrow to mix and master the album and will have information about release date and when you’ll get to hear a song or two SOON. Geologically soon but soon.”
Sadly it now appears that that announcement was a little optimistic and that we’ll have to wait a little longer before hearing the highly anticipated follow up to Fleet Foxes self titled debut.
Pecknold has updated the news with a post on the group’s Facebook page: “Hey, so, I guess I spoke too soon before. The record, while close to being done, still has a ways to go. Would have been nice to have realized this BEFORE flying to New York to finish it, but so it goes. This is how the first record went too – I think two songs were kept from the first batch of 12 we recorded for that album. Back into the cave.”
While details are sketchy it’s believed that that band has been working on the songs Bedouin Dress, Silver City, Lorelai, I Feel The Same, Helplessness Blues, Midnight Feeder, Tripolee, and Montezuma for the album tentatively titled Deepwater Horizon.
