Never one to shy away from a moonlighting gig, The White Stripes frontman Jack White has announced details of his hook-up with US veteran Wanda Jackson, with White producing an album of covers with the 72 year-old singer.
As reported by Clash Music, White and Jackson will unite for the January-scheduled The Party Ain’t Over, which finds White at the helm as The First Lady of Rockabilly takes on a few classic tunes including, remarkably enough, Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good.
As well as being released through his Third Man imprint, the record looks set to have White’s unmistakable touch all over it, with reports confirming that guest players include Racounteurs members Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, White’s main-squeeze Karen Elson and also Carl Broemel from My Morning Jacket. Quick, somebody get me a plaid shirt!
