Weezer hint at Pinkerton tour
Thu 19th Aug, 2010 in International News
Recent Weezer albums have offered amusing cover art and little more, so the news that the band is considering a Pinkerton tour is very welcome news.
Weezer’s eighth album Hurley features bizarre cover art and a worrying tracklist including a song called Where’s My Sex?; the extended version is even more troubling with extra tracks including All My Friends Are Insects and a cover of Coldplay’s Viva La Vida.
So it’s a relief to hear that the band’s guitarist Brian Bell has confirmed that the band has “a reissue of [1996 classic] Pinkerton coming out with new packaging”. But that’s not all – he’s also hoping to be playing as part of “a Pinkerton tour, where we’ll play all the songs off Pinkerton, soon.”
During a backstage interview at the Mile High Music Festival in Colorado, Bell also revealed that Weezer will soon release a rarities album of unreleased tracks called Death to False Metal.
So, Weezer has a new album, a classic reissue, a rarities package and a possible Pinkerton tour… but where is the Australian tour announcement?!
