20 greatest drummers of thelast 25 years

Rhythm Magazine has compiled a list of the 20 greatest drummers of the last 25 years from 100,000 readers’ votes.
Slipknot’s Joey Jordison won the poll, receiving over 37 per cent of the votes beating Dave Grohl, Travis Barker, Chad Smith and Phil Collins for the title.
Unsurprisingly the list of great drummers voted by readers of a drumming magazine favours technical tub tappers with Dream Theater and Avenged Sevenfold’s Mike Portnoy taking out the runners up position and Porcupine Tree’s Gavin Harrison coming in third.
Thomas Lang was the only ‘session drummer’ to make the list, acknowledging his work with Robert Fripp, Glenn Hughes, Robbie Williams, Kelly Clarkson, Sugababes and several solo records from members of the Spice Girls .
