Free Primus rehearsal EP

Currently on tour with Gogol Bordello and the new version of Wolfmother, the reformed Primus has released a free EP of recordings from the band’s June practice sessions.

After the two-week tour, Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and original Primus drummer Jay Lane have promised to return to the studio to record their first album of brand new music since 1999’s Antipop.”

The rehearsal EP features songs from the Frizzle Fry, Sailing the Seas of Cheese, Brown Album and is the first Primus release to feature Jay Lane, who left the band before the 1989 debut album, Suck on This.

Claypool has declared that: “I haven’t rehearsed a band this hard since Frog Brigade decided to perform Pink Floyd’s epic Animals album. Having Jay back in the band has rejuvenated our excitement for Primus and being that he is one of my favorite drummers in the world, the music that is coming out of us is beyond anything we’ve ever done before. It’s like ‘sultry-acid-space-rock’.”
