New Weezer album due inSeptember
Mon 19th Jul, 2010 in International News
Weezer is strongly tipped to be headed to Australia early next year (finally!) and it looks like the band will have new material to air.
Rivers Cuomo has told his home state’s newspaper, The Connecticut Post, that the band is about to sign with an independent label and will release a new album on Monday 13th September.
The band released the underwhelming Raditude in October last year, but Cuomo promises that “There’s definitely going to be more raw rock energy” on the new album.
The new album doesn’t yet have a title, though Cuomo jokingly asked the Connecticut Post “How does `Heavy Mental’ sound?”
The album is expected to include the “stirring and emotional and powerful” song Cuomo recently wrote with Ryan Adams and Represent – the unofficial anthem of the U.S. World Cup team.
