Prince hates the internet

It’s now clear why Prince has decided to release another album through printed media, as he revealed his belief that the age of the internet has already ended.
In a move that seemed counter-intuitive, the rockstar banned Youtube and iTunes from using his music, and he even shut down his own website. However, his distaste for cyberspace hasn’t deterred his fans.
As FasterLouder reported last week, Prince’s latest album 20ten will not be available for download anywhere in the world—the only way to snag a copy will be through select newspapers.
In an interview with The Daily Mirror, Prince had plenty to say about the World Wide Web: “The internet’s completely over. I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it. The internet’s like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can’t be good for you.”
The interview goes on to reveal more of the singer’s eccentricities, including his belief that playing the electric guitar saved him from going bald.
