Laura Marling teams with JackWhite

Laura Marling has a knack for collaboration, working on songs with Mumford and Sons, Noah and the Whale, The Rakes and Mystery Jets. Now we can add Jack White to her list of collaborators.

White invited Marling into his Third Man Recording Studio in Nashville to record the song when she was on an American tour in May.

Speaking to the BBC at Glastonbury, White said: “It was perfect – one take. She’s gorgeous. Gorgeous voice and an incredible person. A wonderful girl… It’s really beautiful what she recorded.”

Though the song’s title and release date have yet to be announced it will be part of White’s Third Man Records ‘Blue Series’ and released on seven inch – and will hopefully be part of her sets during her Splendour in the Grass tour dates

Third Man Records ‘Blue Series’ series has recently featured a cover of Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good recorded by rockabilly legend Wanda Jackson and is also set to include a track from Australia’s hokum blues master CW Stoneking.

White is currently touring Europe with The Dead Weather and told the BBC that he has no current plans to work with The Raconteurs or The White Stripes.
