The latest Michael Cera comedy Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World boasts a star-studded soundtrack.
The film, based on comic books by Bryan Lee O’Malley, is the story of Scott Pilgrim, the bassist for a garage band called SEX BOB-OMB.
The studio recently released the tracklist, which includes unreleased songs by Beck, Metric, and Broken Social Scene.
Beck wrote all of the songs for the fictional band SEX BOB-OMB, and on those four tracks he plays the music while actors from the film provide vocals.
Other music on the soundtrack includes T. Rex and The Rolling Stones. Perhaps equally exciting, the film features a score by Radiohead/Beck collaborator Nigel Godrich as well as music from Nintendo’s classic Legend of Zelda, which director Edgar Wright says were “like nursery rhymes to a generation.”
