New Rage Against The Machinealbum 'a genuine possibility'

After beating the system to reach Christmas number one in the UK last year Rage Against The Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha says a new album is “a genuine possibility”.
The band are reportedly considering a follow-up to 2000’s Renegades, as they look to capitalise on the momentum created by their chart win and a succession of huge European festival gigs. “We have to get our heads around what we’re going to do towards the end of the year and finish up on some other projects, and we’ll take it from there,” de la Rocha has told the NME.
Last year, the band’s signature anthem Killing In The Name outsold UK X Factor winner Joe McElderry’s Christmas offering, a cover of Miley Cyrus’s The Climb. The battle came following a grassroots Facebook campaign by Rage fans, bidding to keep the X Factor winner off number one spot.
The band celebrated its triumph with a free show for 40,000 fans in London’s Finsbury Park, complete with a Clash cover and a cartoon parody of X Factor creator Simon Cowell. Over $100,000 of proceeds from the single went to UK charity Shelter.
