Lily Allen composing BridgetJones musical?
Fri 4th Jun, 2010 in International News
Though she claims to have retired, Lily Allen is reportedly composing the score for a new Bridget Jones musical due to open in London’s West End next year.
Dissatisfied with the current state of the recording industry, Allen took to her blog last September and announced her retirement. The singer started a campaign against illegal downloading and said she planned to quit music and raise a family.
However, rumor has it that Lily Allen is working with Helen Fielding, the author of the original Bridget Jones books. So far she has finished only one song, in which Bridget stands at the fridge and contemplates what to eat. With eleven songs to go, Allen still has work to do.
It seems that Lily Allen is enjoying a very lucrative “retirement.” The British songstress is scheduled to appear at several summer festivals, including the UK’s annual Big Chill.
