While driving through a dangerous part of Mexico City after a gig at the Foro Sol stadium, Paul McCartney’s tour bus has been attacked by a mob that climbed on top of the bus and began jumping up on down on the roof of the bus.
According to the reports “At first his security team thought it was just swarms of fans but when people started scaling the bus, the situation changed in a flash.”
McCartney was rescued by police and was luckily unhurt. He is currently in Washington to receive the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
He’ll accept the award at the White House before an all-star tribute concert featuring Stevie Wonder, Jack White and Emmylou Harris.
The prize honours all aspects of McCartney’s song writing career covering his work with the Beatles, Wings and his solo work.
