Limp Bizkit has cancelled American shows in July and August to try and will try to schedule new dates to give fans “the best experience possible”.
Posting on Twitter, Fred Durst explains that, the band is “moving US headlining tour dates from amphitheatres to arenas for a better Limp experience”.
Touring to celebrate the release of the group’s first studio album in seven years Gold Cobra, Durst claims that “Limp is not an amphitheatre band [and that he’d] like to see less seats in front of the stage and more floor filled with fans going bananas.
According to complaints directed at Durst’s twitter page some punters who had bought tickets have been charged for the full Live Nation booking fees of up to $30 and there are fears that this won’t be refunded.
Responding to criticism and the obvious question of why the band booked amphitheatres in the first place, Durst has told his Twitter followers that “Unfortunately there are major politics involved w[ith] promoters and they insisted on amphitheatres, but it isn’t the right fit for us.”
