Jarvis Cocker’s "holiday forthe ears"

Jarvis Cocker has teamed up with the National Trust to produce a free “holiday for the ears”.
The collection, titled Music To Think To, features the sound of gravel being crunched underfoot in the grounds of the 17th-century Belton House near Grantham in Lincolnshire; the waves lapping on the shore at Brownsea Island in Poole, Dorset; and creaking floorboards at Sir Winston Churchill’s former home at Chartwell, Kent.
Cocker told the The Independent that “It’s not really meant to be listened to intently, like a piece of music, but more as something to have on in the background to aid relaxation or contemplation. Plus, you get to visit 13 National Trust properties in the space of 30 minutes. No mean feat.”
The former Pulp frontman spent three months curating the album and hopes that it will inspire the listeners to then visit the sites for themselves.
