Smashing Pumpkins new bassist
Tue 11th May, 2010 in International News
After holding open auditions for new members, Billy Corgan has added Nicole Fiorentino to the latest incarnation of the Smashing Pumpkins.
Fiorentino has previously played with both Veruca Salt and Spinnerette and replaces Ginger Pooley, who replaced Melissa Auf der Maur, who replaced D’arcy Wretzky. No pattern there at all…
The new bassist’s Myspace page notes that “[Nicole] is keeping herself very busy these days in the studio with Billy and the rest of the Pumpkins crew… She will also be performing live with band for any future tours/gigs.”
At least Corgan will have decent food backstage on tour, as Fiorentino is one of the founders of a rock themed catering service Real Rock ‘n’ Roll Catering which features a menu covering Sound Check (Breakfast), Opening Acts (Appetizers), Headliners (Entrees) Encores (Desserts).
