Interpol release new song'Lights'

Melancholic indie rockers Interpol have released a new song for free download on their website.
Clocking in at just over five and a half minutes, Lights doesn’t scream ‘first single’; however is a powerful track that wouldn’t be out of place on The National’s latest album High Violet.
Building at a leisurely pace before exploding into a crescendo of typically dark guitars and reverb laden vocals the song has a certain ‘stadium’ quality to it, making you wonder whether their recent tour with U2 has left a lasting impression on the band.
In November of last year drummer Sam Fogarino revealed that the band would be channeling the sound of their first LP Turn Of The Bright Lights on its new recordings. However, if Lights is anything to go by, Interpol seem to have something far more ambitious in mind for their fourth album.
Download the Lights from Interpol’s website or listen below and let us know what you think.
