Type O Negative frontman dead
Thu 15th Apr, 2010 in International News
Peter Steele, the towering frontman of the New York-based band Type O Negative, has died of heart failure aged 48.
Steele’s death had been widely reported in 2005 after a message on the band’s website featured a photo of a tombstone bearing his name.
However, it turned out that Steele had simply disappeared for an extended time without explanation due to his heavy substance abuse.
The 2005 incident led many to believe that the latest reports of his death were also false, but Fuse TV host Mistress Juliya has Twittered to confirm the news after speaking with Type O Negative guitarist Kenny Hickey.
The band has not yet released an official statement.
