Franz Ferdinand busted inMexico

Mexician police have taken time out from chasing some of the world’s most dangerous drug barons to bust Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos for drinking illegally.

While on a tour of Latin America, Kapranos was caught out after the band’s recent show in Mexico City.

From his Twitter account he announced that he’d “just been busted by Mexico City cops for drinking tequila in street.”

Kapranos later updated his comments to note that he was “all fine” after a spot of bribery.

“My American friend Grant sorted it,” he wrote, providing a link to a picture of Ulysses S. Grant, 18th president of the United States, and face of the US $50 bill.

According to the busted Scottish singer “Mexican cops seem to hold [Grant] in high regard.”

Guess this all means that Kapranos has found a new way to use Ulysses – boom tish!
