MGMT's new package

MGMT might be turning their backs on releasing singles, but they’ve still got a few little gifts for the fans. The band has unwrapped the limited edition cover for their upcoming record, Congratulations, delivering almost everything you could want from Sonic The Hedgehog except for an actual game.

Featuring a 32-page booklet, the Congratulations packaging also includes cover art designed by Ausgang and a custom made coin so you can scratch-off that cover when you want to hide the fact that you have a limited edition MGMT album in your collection. Luckily it’s not a scratch-n-sniff cover, as the whiff of desperate cool could be overpowering.

Despite the gimmicky packaging the contents of the record sound more promising, with production from ex-Spacemen 3 member Pete “Sonic Boom” Kember and guest vocals from Royal Trux blank faced beauty Jennifer Herrema.
