Woman to play Grohl in Nirvanafilm?

The news that a Kurt Cobain biopic has been given the green light has angered many punters, but it seems that Dave Grohl isn’t fazed by the film.

In an interview with People magazine the drummer has joked that his role in the Nirvana saga should be played by a 60 year old woman.

“I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m crossing my fingers that Shelley Duvall plays me,” he claimed. “Shelley Duvall in The Shining … That is MY face, you cannot get any closer than that.”

It’s not totally ridiculous, after all Cate Blanchett recently portrayed Bob Dylan in I’m Not Here, but sadly we’re unlikely to see Duvall appearing behind a Nirvana drum kit.

Recent reports reveal that the The Shining and Popeye actress has left the world of film behind to patrol the yard of her Texas home on guard against alien invasion. Her local hardware supplier has even reported that, “One time she came in and asked for dirt and boards to block up a hole in her backyard because, she said, ‘That’s a portal into another dimension. That’s where the aliens are coming in.’”
