19 injured at Alexisonfireshow

Due to land in Australia in a matter of days, Alexisonfire will be making very sure all goes smoothly at its Soundwave dates.
Performing in Vancouver on Tuesday night, the band’s set was cut short when a surge of fans caused a section of the front barrier to fall. In the ensuing crush, 19 people were injured, and nine sent to hospital – although the most serious injury was a broken leg. Understandably, the band called off the rest of the performance and the crowd dispersed.
In a post on the Alexisonfire MySpace, the band wrote: “We are sincerely sorry that people were injured. We want to thank the security team, paramedics and police for their quick reaction. We especially want to thank our fans for cooperating and not making a bad situation worse.”
