Of all the reasons why Rage Against The Machine would rally fans for a free gig, you wouldn’t think one of them would be to celebrate beating an X-Factor contestant in the charts.
But this is 2010, and that’s exactly what the band is doing. On Sunday 6 June at London’s Finsbury Park, Zach de la Rocha and co. will play a victorious, come-one-come-all show in the open air.
“Rage Against The Machine reached the Christmas No. 1 spot thanks to those that bought the single,” the band announced. “Now the massive ‘Thank you’ gig that was promised is finally here! You spread the word, you swayed the outcome, you made music history!”
Is it fair to predict utter mayhem? We look forward to the photos.
