Waving your big stick around has become a contentious issue at England’s marquee festivals, following news that annual rock gathering Download Festival is banning flags from its main stage in 2010. Organisers came to the decision after fielding a stream of complaints from punters whose view has been obstructed in the past.
Now the biggest flag-magnet of all, Glastonbury, has asked festival-goers to vote on the issue. As reported by This Is Fake DIY, opinion is so far split quite evenly, although those in favour of a flag ban lead with 50.62% of the 15254 votes.
The bands punters may or may not be seeing through the wall of flags so far include U2 and Muse.
