Mike Patton working on newalbum

Faith No More’s fearsome leader Mike Patton has a new collection of songs on the boil, and it’s as insane as expected. According to a report by Canadian music portal Exclaim!, Ipecac Records is set to release the finished product in April.

The album – which has been hinted at for a while – is made up of covers of Italian pop songs, presented in their native tongue with the backing of an Italian orchestra. Quite far from a new FNM record, then.

Patton is using the name Mondo Cane for the project, but the rest is up to our imagination for now…

There are rumours that originated when FNM were out here (ie. a friend spoke to Mike) that Mondo Cane at Sydney Opera House may happen.
