Franz Ferdinand furious atlabel
Mon 25th Jan, 2010 in International News
Franz Ferdinand’s chief strutter Alex Kapranos took to Twitter last week to broadcast his anger at the band’s US record label Epic.
Unlike the likes of Radiohead, though, the frontman wasn’t raging against an unsanctioned and premature Greatest Hits CD. Instead, Epic had unwisely used a Franz Ferdinand song in a McDonald’s promotion without the permission of its creators.
“This is an example of how a band falls out with their US label,” Kapranos wrote on Twitter. “Did they think we’d approve this shit?” He later added: “Dirty bastards. Stupid arrogant motherfucking pig-brained assholes. I’d rather eat a cowpat on a bun than a bloody McDonald’s.”
The advertisement has not yet been released to the public, and it’ll be interesting to see if it ever is.
