Billy Corgan has traded his Infinite Sadness for a new studio partner: Miss Chicken Of The Sea herself, Jessica Simpson. The pop-country star updated fans on Twitter with the news that she’s recording with the Smashing Pumpkins flame-keeper, and even posted a couple of photos of the pair looking moody in the studio.

Whether this material will ever see the light of day or Corgan is simply recruiting a new D’arcy Wretzky (sorry, D’arcy fans) remains to be seen. However the shots were reportedly taken during the sessions for upcoming Pumpkins opus Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, which is set to boast 44 tracks. There’s room for at least 12 Jessica Simpson collaborations, then.

After reading an excerpt from Corgan's blog about Swine Flu vaccines, I think he'd work well with Jessica Simpson.

It's funny because this is kinda like when Britney Spears shaved her head bald in a highly embarrassing and desperate time of her life. But Corgan's already bald.

I missed the bit about it being a gay joke previously (did you edit that after I originally read it by any chance?).

For the record, it wasn't a gay joke, or necessarily a girl joke.

It was merely a reference to a gossip mag implying that you are more up to date on celebrity gossip than I am.

Given that I get most of my celebrity gossip from the Sydney Morning Herald, that's not surprising.
