David Bowie tribute album

A mixed bag of musical contributors will pay homage to the Thin White Duke on an upcoming tribute album. As reported by Strange Glue, the as-yet-untitled compilation is designed to raise money for the Warchild charity in the UK.

Among those putting a spin on Bowie is New York psych outfit A Place To Bury Strangers, garage trio Vivian Girls, current Australian visitors Chairlift, and Swahili Blonde (a collaboration between Nicole Turley and Red Hot Chili Peppers deserter John Frusciante ). Big names MGMT and Soulwax are also on board, however it hasn’t yet been revealed what songs they’ll tackle.

The David Bowie tribute album is due for a May release. Check out the tracklisting below.
