Wasting no time to ring in 2010, Soundgarden has finally succumbed to months of reunion rumours.

Breaking the news via twitter, Chris Cornell left the following message for his fans: “The 12 year break is over & school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!”

Although there are no reports of an international tour or any studio album, internet sources suggest that Soundgarden will begin their tour schedule with shows across the West Coast of North America.

Rumors strongly suggest that the band will headline Coachella 2010 in the California desert. With their 90s success in Australia and their rabid Aussie fan base, we hope that the reunion might grace our shores in 2010 if not Big Day Out 2011.
