Sigur Rós frontman goesit alone

One album that slipped through the cracks in our most anticipated records of 2010 round-up is that of ethereal Sigur Rós voice Jón Þór Birgisson. The man has been busily working on his debut solo outing Go under the name Jónsi, and it’s set for a March 23 release.
Go was recorded between Jónsi’s home country of Iceland and Connecticut, assisted by some gifted collaborators. Classical shapeshifter Nico Muhly has contributed orchestration, while production is shared between Jónsi, his Riceboy Sleeps offsider Alex Somers and veteran indie go-to-guy Peter Katis.
In an intriguing sidenote for Sigur Rós fans, apparently a few of the nine songs on Go are sung in English. All the elements point to something special. A world tour is slated to follow the release of the album.
