New York’s favourite son Nas has only just left Australia after a string of celebrated dates around the country last week but it would seem as though the rapper has had a lukewarm homecoming, with news arriving today that the man known as Nasir Jones is in some serious trouble with the law, owing the IRS over two million dollars in back taxes.
According to gossip rag TMZ, Nas has been skimping on his taxes over the last couple of years, clocking up a massive $2,584,206.31 in unpaid taxes to the US government. Ouch.
He’s not the only MC in hot water over some dodgy tax dealings, as you might remember the news from last month about Wu-Tang Clan mainstay Method Man turning himself into police after evading a comparatively measly $33,000 in taxes.
