Having come back from a five-year hiatus in 2008, Stone Temple Pilots are working on a new album. The grunge old-timers will release their first full-length since 2001’s Shangri-La Dee Da some time in 2010.
“When we get back from [our US] tour, we’re going to finish the album,” frontman and Velvet Revolver deserter Scott Weiland told Spinner.com. “Then, when we finish the album, there will be a big tour around its release and that will probably be a long tour.”
With Stone Temple Pilots’ former label Atlantic Records still pursuing a lawsuit against the band for alleged breach of contract, the forthcoming album is yet to find a home. Perhaps that “long tour” will find its way down here before 2010 is out…
