UPDATE: Reports have emerged that the Chuck Biscuits death rumours are in fact a hoax. The dupe apparently stemmed from months’ of email correspondence between a blog writer and someone purporting to be Chuck.

Chuck Biscuits – the versatile punk drummer and founding member of Vancouver hard-nuts D.O.A. – succumbed to throat cancer yesterday, aged 44.

Throughout his career, the man sat behind several drum-kits. Further to D.O.A., he was the original drummer for metallers Danzing, and spent a short and volatile stint touring with Henry Rollins’ juggernaut Black Flag in the 1980s.

Chuck also picked up the sticks for the likes of Social Distortion, the Circle Jerks and even hip hop superstars Run DMC over the years.
