If you’ve got a friend in Old Blighty, it’s time to ditch email for postcards. On 7 January 2010, the UK Royal Mail will issue a new series of postage stamps celebrating landmark albums from the Mother Country.
The ten stamps will be printed with iconic sleeve designs from the likes of The Clash, New Order, David Bowie and Blur. According to stamp collecting site Norvic Philatelics, the chosen albums were decided by a panel of UK music magazine editors and writers. Reckon they’ve nailed the top ten?
Here are the ten albums set to be immortalised by the Royal Mail.
Pink Floyd – The Division Bell
Coldplay – A Rush Of Blood To The Head’
Blur – Parklife
The Rolling Stones – Let It Bleed
Primal Scream – Screamadelica
David Bowie – The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
Mike Oldfield – Tubular Bells
New Order – Power, Corruption & Lies
