Having only just unleashed sprawling opus Embryonic, The Flaming Lips have an even more insane project on the boil. Wayne Coyne and his fellow freaks are attempting a remake of Pink Floyd’s untouchable 1973 album Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety. The revelation came in a Q&A session with fans at the Ricardo Montalbán Theater in LA, and has been reported by the L.A. Times.
Helping the Lips in their quest are Oklahoma’s other psych-rock hopes Stardeath and White Dwarfs. Even more intriguingly, Peaches and Henry Rollins will be making guest appearances. We really hope Wayne isn’t having a cosmic joke at our expense, – œcause this sounds bat-shit awesome.
