The Strokes getting on with it
Tue 13th Oct, 2009 in International News
Back in March, we reported that those musical chameleons The Strokes had put a stop to the feuding and got back to work. Now frontman Julian Casablancas has confirmed the group’s fourth album is nearly written.
Given the various side-projects of its members, it’s like surprise The Strokes have taken longer than hoped to get the ideas out. “We’re supposed to have done it already, but it got pushed back,” Casablancas told XFM. “We worked on it for months, we have most of the songs written. It’s just a question of getting all five dudes in the room.”
The man echoed the same sentiment in a recent interview with The Guardian: “To get everyone back, in the same spot, and feeling good, is tricky.”
If you don’t sense much urgency in those statements, you’re probably right. The insouciant singer is currently on the promotional trail for his own debut solo album, Phrazes For the Young, set for release this month.
