Enigmatic pop duo Goldfrapp are set to score a film on John Lennon’s early years. Nowhere Boy, set to close the upcoming London Film Festival, is a biopic covering the childhood and adolescence of one of music’s most distinguished figures, helmed by first-time director Sam Taylor-Wood.

Work on the film’s score – whilst halting production of the next Goldfrapp album – has been an experience worth taking time out for, Allison Goldfrapp states on her blog.

“it’s Sam Taylor-Wood’s first feature film and it’s truly amazing that they gave us the oppotunity to do this. We are all really excited about going to abbey road studios soon to record the strings with the full orchestra,” she wrote.

The news follows on from the recent news that Mastodon would score the upcoming Jonah Hex film. Check our our feature on movies scored by some of our favourite musicians.
