It seems that for the meantime Weezer have moved away from the veritable rainbow of colours cataloguing their albums, releasing the cover art for their latest album Raditude, flagged for release on October 27 this year.

Their romantic ballad of unspoken tensions (If You’re Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To has so far been the only indication for fans of what to expect from the new album. However, it seems the band are set to continue along the same vein of The Red Album, heralding a consistency rarely found in the Weezer album chronology.

Sidney, the lucky pooch on the album cover, is said by his owner to be a – œbig Weezer fan’. That was enough to convince Rivers Cuomo, who spotted the pic in an issue of National Geographic and chased down the budding photographer.

In related news, it has also been revealed that the band are set to perform their single Rainbow Connection, with the Muppets on a new Muppet album due out in 2010.
